Haruharu Black Rice Toner Review

Haruharu Black Rice Toner Review

For the longest time, I heard many people rave about the Haruharu Black Rice Toner, but is it good? In this post, I will review the Haruharu Black Rice Toner and see if it is actually good.

What is unique about the Haruharu Toner?

Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Toner is a hyaluronic toner but it is special in that it contains black rice. They use a fermentation formula that helps with absorbing into the skin. It uses 2,000ppm Korean black rice extract, hyaluronic acid, and beta-glucan to help hydrate the skin while helping with skin cell regeneration.

My Thoughts –  Haruharu Black Rice Toner Review

Texture:

Very similar to most hyaluronic acid, slightly thick but nonsticky. It absorbs really fast into the skin

Scent:

I heard many people complain about the original Haruharu Toner because of the heavy fragrance. That is why I bought the Haruharu toner fragrance-free one. The Haruharu Black Rice Toner fragrance free one does still have a slight fragrance. The fragrance is not strong, it is very subtle. It is kind of like a powdery scent with a hint of lavender. The scent doesn’t linger, so there is nothing to worry about. If you are sensitive to smell the Haruharu Black Rice Toner fragrance-free one is the one to go.

Sensitive Skin:

If you are wondering if the Haruharu Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner is for sensitive skin, it is. If you buy the fragance free Haruharu Toner one it should work for you. The light fragrance should not irritate your skin, unless any type of fragrance irritates your skin. It is a super gentle formula and shouldn’t irritate your skin. I like to use this when my skin is feeling a bit irritated and it helps hydrate my skin without further irritation.

Good for Super Dry Skin?

This is hard to answer. It is hydrating but I don’t think it would cure your dry skin. It is hydrating but not enough for super dry skin. I think you would have to layer several layers to hydrate super dry skin and I don’t know if it will be worth it. However, if you have normal or oily skin that is dehydrated it might be worth trying.

Overall:

The Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Toner is a decent toner. It has great ingredients like antioxidants and for hydration. However, I don’t think I really love it. Maybe it’s because I don’t care for hyaluronic acid as much anymore.

Yes, there was a time when I love hyaluronic acid but it is in almost every product. Hyaluronic acid is famously known for holding 1000 times its weight in water. But it is found in most products you have in your skincare.

Maybe I don’t like using hyaluronic acid because of how finicky it is. If you use too much or too little and depending on your environment it can suck water from your skin. I don’t want to risk having it drawing out the moisture from my skin.

Honestly, I just didn’t find anything special about it. I didn’t find that my skin was particularly hydrated or looked particularly better after using it.

Overview:
  • Price: ~ $17
  • Rating: 3/5, Decent but I don’t love it
  • Repurchase? : Maybe
  • Skin types: Normal or oily with dehydrated skin
  • Where to buy: Yesstyle, Amazon

Conclusion

Do I love it? It’s okay but I don’t think I would buy it again. It might be because I don’t like hyaluronic acid as much as before. Hyaluronic acid is hydrating but sometimes it can be finicky, which is probably why I don’t reach for it anymore. The Haruharu Black Rice Toner is a decent toner and hydrating but I don’t think it is something I need in my skincare. I haven’t noticed a dramatic difference after using or when I am not using it. I don’t find it particularly hydrating so I wouldn’t recommend it for super dry skin. If you have oily or normal skin that is dehydrated it might be worth trying out but I wouldn’t rush out to buy it.
