Fungal Acne Skincare Routine
Finding a safe fungal acne skincare routine be a little daunting. Especially if you have to start from zero. In this post, I will list affordable natural home treatments as well as fungal acne-safe skincare products I love.
Must-Have Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
An Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is an essential product to keep your fungal acne at bay and treating your acne. Picking out which anti-dandruff shampoo can be hard. The type of anti-dandruff shampoo depends on what type of skin type you have. Each type of anti-dandruff shampoo has different levels of effectiveness and each with different levels of dryness.
Nizoral for Fungal Acne
Nizoral is a drying anti-dandruff shampoo. It is one of the most effective treatments for fungal acne, but it also the most drying. I would not recommend leaving this on for more than 5 minutes since it could be a little drying. I would recommend you follow up with a honey mask.
Selsun Blue for Fungal Acne
Selsun is another anti-dandruff shampoo option. It uses the ingredient Selenium sulfide to combat fungal acne. This shampoo is more gentle and less drying than the Nizoral. You can leave this shampoo on for up to 10 minutes and would be fine. I would still recommend following up with a honey mask to hydrate your skin.
Head and Shoulders Shampoo for Fungal Acne
It is one of the most affordable options to clear your fungal acne. You want to look for a Head and Shoulders Shampoo that uses Pyrithione zinc. It the most gentle of all anti-dandruff shampoo recommended. For this particular shampoo, you might have to leave it a little longer to see results. You might not have to use a honey mask, but I would still recommend it since it has anti-bacterial properties.

Fungal Acne Safe Products Beginner
You don’t have to buy all the products I mentioned. These are some of my favorites. If some of the natural options are working well enough, you can replace them for what you need.
Some of My Favorites

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – Once in a while. Once every 3 or 5 days, depending on how dry your skin is
Mask – A DIY Honey Mask – Manuka honey if you are feeling fancy.
Toner – Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner is my all-time favorite hydrating yet gentle exfoliator
Hatomugi Skin conditioner – It is a simple toner that is a great hydrating toner to layer with.
Moisturizer – It’s pretty hard to find a fungal acne-safe moisturizer. If layering toners aren’t enough for you, here are some of my current favorites.
A’pieu 2x Madecassoside Cream – A light cream and helps calm your skin. Great for people who are sensitive as well as acne-prone. You can read my full in-depth review about A’pieu Madecassoside Cream here.
