What to buy from innisfree

What to buy from Innisfree

Innisfree is one of Korea’s well-known beauty brands. Before I traveled to Korea, Innisfree was one of the shops that everyone recommended. But when once I was there, I was at a lost. There were so many products to choose from makeup to masks, each having several lines for one product. So I decided to buy a bunch of things and bring it back home and see what I liked. To help you with your Korean beauty adventure, here is a list of what I recommend and what to buy from Innisfree.

What to buy from Innisfree: Sleeping Mask Packs

One product I thought I had to try out are sleeping masksBut what exactly are sleeping masks? Sleeping masks are basically an intense version of a moisturizer. Don’t be scared though. Although they are called masks, you won’t wake up to a messy pillow. They usually absorb or dry and form a barrier, to keep you moisturized.

I bought two sleeping masks: Innisfree Green Tea Sleeping Mask and Innisfree Orchid Sleeping Mask.

Innisfree Green Tea Sleeping Mask Review $17

The Green Tea Sleeping Mask is described as an:

“Overnight mask delivers hydration and anti-oxidants from Jeju green tea extract to awaken with dewy, well-hydrated skin.”

The Green Tea Sleeping Mask is quite similar to the Green Tea Seed Serum, they both have similar smell and texture. The mask is a tad thicker than the serum but both are light and absorbs quickly into the skin.

Innisfree JeJu Orchid Sleeping Mask Review $18

The Orchid Sleeping Mask is described as:

This powerful anti-aging sleeping mask, formulated with the vitality of Jeju orchid, nourishes skin while you are asleep for the resilient and smooth skin.

What I thought/the Differences

The Innisfree Orchid Sleeping Pack is much richer compared to the Innisfree Green Tea Sleeping Pack. The Orchid Sleeping pack has more of a luxurious thick cream feeling. Even after just swatching the mask and washing my hands immediately after, you can tell that the orchid is a richer and more intense mask. Even just swatching the mask on my hands made my hands more bright and softer compared to the Green Tea Sleeping Mask

Would I recommend these sleeping masks? Yes! They are decent sleeping masks, great for skin that are on the dry side. I would recommend the Orchid Sleeping Mask for more mature or drier skin. The Green Tea Sleeping Mask is a little bit lighter, so it is probably better for oilier skin. I try not to use these masks too often since my skin gets blocked quite easily. BUT I love using it on my hands at night. I would slather some mask on my hands just before I go to sleep and I would wake up to much softer and hydrated hands. Even if you don’t like it on your face, it is one of my favorite products to use when my hands are dry.

whitening pore synergy serum what to buy from innisfree

What to buy from Innisfree: Whitening Pore Synergy Serum Review $37

I bought this because I love vitamin c serums, and I think in the store it was one of their best sellers? I’m not really sure if that is true or not. But on their website,  it is described as:

A synergy serum and ampoule that treats your skin tone, dark spots, and skin texture for clearer, brighter skin.

Would I recommend this product? I’m really not sure about this vitamin C serum. There were so many rave reviews on this product, but I just didn’t think this vitamin c serum was all that special. Compared to my Drunk Elephant C-Firma serum, this pales in comparison. I would probably skip this vitamin c serum. I didn’t see much a difference after using it.

What to buy from innisfree guide treatment soybean energy oil

What to buy from Innisfree: Innisfree Soybean Energy Oil Review $32

I also bought the Innisfree Soybean Energy Oil because it is said to be one of their best sellers? It’s for anti-aging, moisturizes the skin, yet absorbs quickly.

“…anti-aging essence with fermented oil added to highly concentrated fermented extract of Jeju’s indigenous green beans replenishes the skin with health radiance.”

I usually don’t like oils, because they are heavy and block my pores. Although I don’t like oils, I have to say it does make my skin pretty glowy and healthy. I think it would be perfect for no makeup days or even natural makeup days. I didn’t use it long enough to see any anti-aging benefits. However, after using this product I did get pimples, it might not be the product that is causing the pimples but be warned if your pores get clogged easily.

Would I recommend this product? Right now, I wouldn’t recommend this product, since it might have blocked my pores. Just be careful if you get pimples easily.

What to buy from innisfree sunscreen triple care sunscreen review

What to buy from Innisfree: Innisfree Perfect UV Protection cream Triple Care Sunscreen Review $16

I bought Innisfree Triple Care Sunscreen because a lot of people on youtube highly recommended this sunscreen. It is described as:

“A multifunctional, water-resistant UV protection cream that is smooth to the touch without being sticky and lasts for hours.”

I bought two types, one triple care, and one for dry skin. I noticed the triple care has more of a white cast compared to the dry skin one. If you don’t like the white cast you could try out the dry one. But the dry skin one is a little heavier compared to the triple care sunscreen.

Do I recommend this product?  Yes, it is a good sunscreen and has a good texture. However, you should be aware that whenever you apply the sunscreen you would get the initial white cast. If you massage it enough into your skin the white cast will dissipate but it just might be hard to reapply sunscreen esp when you have makeup on.

What to buy from innisfree lips vivid oil tints

What to buy from Innisfree: Innisfree Vivid Oil Tint

I couldn’t find this product on their website, so it might be a discontinued but it is described as:

“An oil tint that vividly colour your lips with just one application while providing long lasting moisturisation.”

I honestly thought I wouldn’t like this product. I chose this product after a quick search on Reddit. They recommend the shades 4 and 5, which I bought. Initially, I thought the lip colors didn’t suit me, so they ended up in the back of my drawer. I decided to try it out one day and really liked the colors. They look orangey when swatched, but they looked quite natural on the lips. After they wear off, there is a bit of tint left.

Would I recommend these lip tints? Yes, I love the colors but they aren’t very long lasting. If you are okay with reapplying your lips throughout the day, this would be a great tint to try out. BUT I am not sure if they discontinued the product or not.

What to buy from innisfree moisturizer green tea and orchid review

What to buy from Innisfree: Innisfree Moisturizers

Innisfree has many lines of moisturizers. The two I decided to try out is the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum and the Innisfree Orchid Intensive Cream.

Innisfree Green Tea Green Tea Serum $28

Concentrated serum delivers hydration and anti-oxidants from a balanced blend of Jeju green tea extract and green tea seed oil for sufficiently hydrated skin and a healthy-looking glow.

The green tea seed serum is the main reason why I love Innisfree so much. The green tea seed serum is hydrating while still being super light and absorbs instantly. Check out my full review {here}.

Innisfree Orchid Intense Cream $32

The meticulously extracted active ingredient from Jeju orchids delivers exceptional sleekness to dry skin with its outstanding antioxidants. The super-nourishing anti-aging cream captures the vitality of Jeju orchids for wrinkle reduction, elasticity, skin tone care, extreme dryness control, and improved skin texture.

Just like the sleeping pack, the orchid line is much richer while the green tea line was much lighter. Both were great for when your skin needs hydration.

Would I recommend these products? Yes!

What to buy from Innisfree:  Sheet Mask

Their sheet masks were decent, they have several lines to pick from. BUT there was one thing I realized while trying out these masks. I realized you get what you paid for. Currently, there are three lines: My Real Squeeze mask, Second Skin mask, and Skin Clinic mask. If you want a full review of the Innisfree mask check out my review: Which Innisfree sheet Masks are the best?

In a brief Summary:

Innisfree The My real squeeze mask $1.40: They have many formulas with-in a line. With so many formulas it could be a little confusing when trying to pick which mask to choose. Also, some are a hit and a miss depending on which formula you chose. Of the three lines, they were the least effective. However, they are the most affordable.

Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask $2.20: These masks are one level up from the Innisfree My Real Squeeze mask. There are fewer selections, but the quality is more consistent and the quality is higher. Even the mask fits better.

Innisfree Second Skin Mask $5: This mask is one level up from the Innisfree Skin Clinic Mask. These masks are the most effective masks from Innisfree. It is a hydrogel mask that is effective and fits like second skin. With the added quality, it does come with a price. These aren’t as affordable as the Innisfree My Real Squeeze mask but it is 10x the effectiveness.

Check out my full review on Innisfree masks {here}

Would I recommend to pick some up?  I quite like the  Innisfree Second Skin Mask masks, but for ~$5 a sheet, that’s not cheap.  If you are willing to shell out the extra cash for effectiveness, these are the masks to buy. I wouldn’t buy the Real Squeeze ones again even if they are $1, too many hit or miss.

Conclusion

Innisfree is a great place to test the waters for Korean beauty. They have tons of great skincare, mask, and even makeup. If I had to recommend what to buy from Innisfree, I would say you have to try their Orchid Intensive Cream. It is a heavy duty moisturizer that is great for dry skin, especially during the winter months.  I would sometimes apply to my dry hands and I would notice my hands noticeably less dry. Also, pick up their Innisfree Second Skin Mask! High Quality and effective masks A++.
