Just like the Hada Labo Milk, I have been bewitched and have fallen with the Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Lotion. Don’t be fool by the name, it’s not an actual lotion. In Japan, they call toners, lotions. Unlike the westerns’ toners, Japans’ toners are less astringent and also be used as a mask. However, both toners are used after cleansing. They provide a base of hydration while balancing pH, and even help other products penetrate better.
The Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Lotion itself is a clear watery liquid that absorbs quickly into the skin. Just like the Hada Labo Milk, I saw an immediate brightening effect. If you are looking for a brightening product I would definitely recommend the Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Lotion and the Hada Labo Milk.
Tips?
Instead of dabbing some toner on a cotton pad and wiping it on your face like for a normal toner, I found I get a more noticeable brightening effect by warming it between my hands and patting it into my skin. Also, you can try soaking some cotton pads and placing on your skin for a mini mask.
