You have probably seen the famous Papa Recipe Bombee Mask, it is the mask with the distinctive jar of honey on it. I finally had the urge to try it out. BUT I couldn’t decide which mask to buy especially with so many variations. From their Whitening mask, Black Honey mask, and even a Rose Honey mask, I had a really hard time picking which one to buy. If you can’t decide which mask to get, I will help you pick which mask is worth trying out.
I thought that there was only had three types of masks but after I got home, I found out are even more variations online (Bombee Ginseng Red Honey Oil mask, Bombee Honey Butter Mask Pack, and even sparkling bubble TOC mask). I won’t be reviewing all the Papa recipe masks, I wish I could though!
General thoughts of the mask
All of the masks from Papa Recipes smells so addicting. It smells so GOOD, it is such a delicious honey smell. I usually don’t like the smell of manuka honey but the smell that these masks have a more sweet smell? Almost like a dessert than actually manuka honey.
The fit of the mask
I am quite impressed with the quality of the mask as well, the quality of the mask is superb! The fit of the mask is very nice. No extra flaps, or anything too big or too small.
Papa recipe Bombee Brightening Honey Mask
It is described as:
“Bombee whitening Honey Mask Pack contains diamond powder and glutathione that nourishes and smooth the skin, thereby helping make your skin vibrant, bright and crystal-clear.”
Ingredients:
Honey extract (provide nutrients and moisture for skin), Propolis Extract(Protects skin and maintains skin health), Royal Jelly Extract (Provides elasticity and moisture skin), Diamond Powder (Provides improved tone and elasticity for skin), Glutathione (Provides improved tone and tension), and Niacinamide( Whitening Effect).
What the mask looks like
As you can see the mask is a bit thinner than a typical cotton mask. It is almost see-through and it fits perfectly to the face.
Results
The brightness isn’t very obvious in the pictures but I thought it did a good job of brightening my skin. It also leaves the skin looking honey like. You can see the sheen the mask left behind.
Papa recipe Bombee Rose Gold Honey Mask
It is described as:
“Bombee Rose Gold Honey Pack moisturizes the skin with the gold-honeycomb sheet generously soaked with rich hydrating propolis extract, 24 gold essence.”
Ingredients:
Honey Extract (Moisturizes and firms skin), 24k Gold (Firms and revitalizes skin), Rose Extract (Firms and smoothes skin), Propolis Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, and Damask Rose Water.
What the mask looks like
Unlike the other masks, there is gold-like honeycomb pattern in the front of the mask. I found it a bit strange since most gold masks have the gold facing your skin so it helps revitalize the skin. You can also see that the mask is a little bit thicker compared to the Bombee Whitening Mask.
results
The brightening effect was not obvious as the Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening one but you can see that my skin looks more hydrated and looks super healthy.
Papa recipe Bombee Black Honey Mask
It is described as:
“Bombee Black Honey Mask Pack contains richly moisturizing and nourishing propolis and manuka honey extracts, which help make your skin moist and resilient and give it a honey-like gloss.”
Claims to deliver intensive moisturizing effect. Makes Glowy and moisturizing skin
Ingredients:
Gold Complex (Revitalize and firming), Manuka Honey( Moisturizing, Nourishing), Royal Jelly (Moisturizing, firming), Propolis (Nourishing, moisturizing), Ceramide ( Moisturizing and nourishing), Licorice Extract (Brightening), Ginger extract, Green tea Extract and Citrus.
What I thought
Unlike the other two mask, it uses a black mask. It isn’t as thin as the other two masks, the thickness is more like a normal cotton mask. You can see that the mask makes my skin look honey-like yet looks healthy.
Overall thought of Papa Recipe Mask
All three Papa Recipe masks did an okay job in hydrating the skin. When you remove the mask, you can see that the serum absrob relatievly fast into the skin, making it hydrated but not too hydrated. Probably not the mask for you when you have very dry skin but I think it will be more suited for people who have oily skin. It doesn’t feel sticky, it almost feels like as if you put on a matte product. Using my skin moisture analyzer, after using the mask, my skin only hydration level was only 50%.
Overall, there isn’t one stand out mask from the three masks that I tried. They give pretty similar results, but the Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey Mask was a little more superior in brightening. All three masks, smelled good, fit nicely and they all gave the skin a healthy glow. You can probably choose any of the Papa Recipe and it would give you glowy skin. I just wished that the glow that the masks gave you was long-lasting. I wish the serum travels deeper into the skin so that when you wake up your skin is glowy. BUT I think it would be a great mask to put on in the morning, so you can have a glowy no makeup look.
