Baby Pure Shining Mask Review

I happened to see Jayjun masks on sale and decided to pick up the Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask. I remember trying out Jayjun Real Water Brightening Mask {here} and was a little disappointed. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t live up to the hype especially since it’s one of Jayjun’s bestseller. Hopefully, the Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask can change my mind.

Just like the JayJun Real Water Brightening Mask, JayJun  Baby Pure Shining Mask is a 3 step mask. While Jayjun Real Water Brightening Mask claims to whiten and help with wrinkles,  Baby Pure Shining Mask claims to be hydrating and regenerating.

Although Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask’s main selling point isn’t to brighten,  it has many similar ingredients as the Jayjun Real Water Brightening Mask. They both have brightening ingredients like  Niacinamide which help prevents the generation of melanin. It also has many other similar ingredients in the Jayjun Real Water mask like adenosine which helps wrinkle prevention, hydrating ingredients like betaine, beta-glucan and ceramide.

Unlike the Real Water Brightening Mask, the Baby Pure Shining Mask doesn’t have a cleanser. Instead, it is replaced with an eye cream. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I didn’t quite like the cleanser in the Real Water Brightening  Mask mainly because by the time I grabbed the mask, I already have my toners and serums on.

The first step isn’t a cleanser like the real water brightening mask instead, it’s an essence.

Step 1 Blooming Essence

STEP 1 Blooming Essence (1.5ml)

The Blooming Essence contains rose water, jatropha oil and an essence mixed with aloe powder. They work together to help soothe dry and tired skin that might have been caused by the environment and helping it become more glowy and full of vitality.

Step 2 Baby Pure Shining Mask

STEP 2 Baby Pure Shining Mask (25ml)

The second step is the Baby Pure Shining Mask. It uses Cupra sheets, which are made from eco-friendly natural fibres. They have great adhesion, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial property while still able to retain moisture and essence. It is also quite breathable while still being soft to the touch.

Jayjun Baby Pure Shining Mask - step 3 how the hydro eye cream looks like

STEP 3 Hydro Eye Cream (1.5ml)

It contains sodium hyaluronate and trehalose which are natural moisturizers. It contains other ingredients like lavender extract and other flower complexes to provide nutrients and smooth your skin.

What I thought

The Blooming Essence at first looks like a  cloudy colored gel, but it magically turns transparent as you work the gel into your face. You will also get a light whiff of a powdery smell but it will disappear in seconds. Once the gel is applied,  you will notice that your skin will look instantly glowy with some tackiness.

When you first open the second step, the mask looks almost like a gel. Upon closer inspection, the essence has adhered well to the mask making it look like a jelly-like mask. Since the essence adheres so well to the mask, the perfect amount of essence was evenly distributed. No extra essence can slide down your face, making hassle-free. Not only is there a perfect amount of essence, but the cut of the mask was done quite well. It fit well, no missing spot or dangling bits to annoy you while you use the mask. However, just like the essence, the mask leaves your face feeling little tacky.

The third step contains a white eye cream, that feels a little bit thick and slippery.  In the little packet, you will get more than enough cream to cover under your eye area or even enough to use it for your whole face. You can probably put it aside and use it later.  Although the mask and essence left a slightly tacky feeling the eye cream leaves your skin feeling smooth but it almost feels like as if there was silicone in it. Beware though, it doesn’t absorb quickly into the skin, so if you don’t like the feeling of stuff on your face you might not like this mask. The eye cream is quite addicting though, I love the light fresh scent it leaves on your skin.

In the end, what is the difference between the Baby Pure Shining Mask and the Real Water Brightening Mask?

Although both masks have sodium hyaluronate, betaine, beta-glucan, ceramides, niacinamide and adenosine, they also have tons of ingredients that are distinct and only found in their corresponding mask.

Although they both have niacinamide, the Real Water Brightening Mask has niacinamide in both the mask and the essence whereas the Baby Pure Shining mask is only found in the mask.

Results

After using this mask my face was instantly brighter. My face was quite dark after travelling to Singapore, and nothing was able to brighten my face like the Baby Pure Shining Mask. However, after trying a second time I didn’t see such a large brightening effect like the first time.

Conclusion

I love this mask. I think I can finally understand why people love Jayjun masks. If I had to pick between the Real Water Brightening Mask or the Baby Pure Shining Mask, I would definitely choose the Baby Pure Shining Mask any day. The Baby Pure Shining Mask was far superior in terms of brightening the skin.
