Empties Part 7 – The Good, The Bad, and The Mehs

 Hydrators 

Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence $35 USD – My Holy Grail Essence, one of my favorite toners for brighter and clearer skin. Highly recommend. Good

Wishtrend Quad Active Boosting Essence $23 USD 🍄– A great toner that is super lightweight and hydrating. It is also great for calming the skin. Good

I’m from Ginseng Serum $29 USD – I was pleasantly surprised with the I’m From Ginseng Serum. If you know the smell and taste of ginseng, you know it smells very herbal and medicinal. However, this serum smells like ginseng but a slightly sweeter smell. I actually didn’t mind the scent. Furthermore, the serum is super hydrating. I can’t say much for the anti-aging effects but I would say I’m from ginseng is worth trying out. Good

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Essence $19 USD – 🍄 I bought this a while ago and haven’t reached for it a while. But when my skin started to break out like crazy, The Cosrx Snail Mucin is a lifesaver. It hydrates the skin while calming my super irritated skin. Good

 Cleansers 

Wishtrend Acid-Duo 2% Mild Gel Cleanser $19 – A nice gentle cleanser, that is non-stripping. I would highly recommend you want an exfoliating cleanser that isn’t harsh on the skin. Read my in-depth review of the Acid Duo Cleanser here. Good

Garnier Waterproof Micellar Water $7 CAD – 🍄 My HG micellar water, great for waterproof mascara and it doesn’t hurt that it is super affordable. Good

Shiseido Senka Speedy Perfect Whip Airy $12 USD – I didn’t really like The Speedy Perfect Whip Airy. Although it is a classic cleanser, it felt a little stripping. Not my favorite, probably won’t repurchase again. Meh

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil $16 USD – One of my favorite western cleansing oil. The cleansing oil is quite thick but not too thick. Although it doesn’t remove makeup as easy as Asian brands it is a decent cleansing oil when you are in a pinch or don’t have time for shipping. Good

E Nature Moringa Cleansing Balm $23 USD – A decent cleansing balm but it is not my all-time cleansing balm. I personally don’t really like the smell, it is quite medicinal and not my favorite. However, it isn’t stripping, so it a decent cleansing balm. Good

Physician Formula Matcha Cleansing Balm $14 USD – The Physician formula matcha balm is a super hyped cleansing balm. Honestly, I didn’t really love it. It is decent but doesn’t remove makeup and emulsify as well as my favorite cleansing balm( aka heimish cleansing balm). Meh

 Exfoliants 

Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA Toner $15USD 🍄 – A super gentle exfoliant, that can be used daily. You won’t see results immediately but this toner would be great for those who have sensitive or acne-prone skin. Good

Life Brand Clear Action Cleansing Pads $6 CAD 🍄– A decent cleansing pad but the exfoliating pads are a bit rough for my liking. Probably won’t buy again. But if you are in a pinch, it is worth trying out, just don’t rub too hard. Meh

Stri-Dex Acne Pads $4 USD🍄– One of the most highly recommended exfoliant pad for fungal acne. Personally, I won’t be buying this again. The menthol (aka the cooling effect) can be irritating. If your skin is comprised in any way, I wouldn’t recommend it. Meh

Tarte knockout Tingle Treatment $39 USD $51 CAD 🍄– If you want a fungal ance exfoliant that is strong, this is it. It has a strong apple cider smell, which could be off-putting. Also when they mean “Knockout”, they mean it. It stings a lot and would not recommend for sensitive skin. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it again. Even if your skin is strong, I still wouldn’t recommend it. Something that irritates your skin that badly, probably isn’t good for your skin in the long run. Bad

Differin Adapalene 0.1% Acne Treatment Gel $12 USD 🍄– I can’t believe Differin Gel is fungal Acne safe. It is super gentle and non-irritating. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a gentle yet effective fungal acne safe exfoliant.  Good

 Brighteners 

Some By Mi Yuja Niacin Blemish Care Serum $15 USD – Don’t be fooled by the pictures from Some By Mi. This is a gentle Vitamin c serum. It didn’t fade my freckles but it did make my overall skin tone brighter. Probably won’t buy again though. Meh

Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum $12 USD – I think they updated their packaging recently. I quite like the serum, I think in the beginning was super effective, after a while I didn’t see any major difference. It’s an okay product but, might try other vitamin c products. Okay

The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder $5.80 USD $5.80 CAD – One of the favorite products from The ordinary. It can be a little irritating if you aren’t careful. I like the fact that the vitamin c doesn’t get a chance to oxidize. Okay

Gooddal Green Tangerine Vita C Dark Spot Serum $20 USD – I didn’t see a difference using this. Gentle but probably won’t buy again. Meh

Rohto Mentholatum Melano CC Vitamin C Essence $15 USD – One of the most recommended essence on Reddit. I actually quite liked it. I find it super effective on acne scars. However, it is a little oily and heavy so I don’t really recommend to those who have oily skin. Good

By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced Serum $20 USD – Another highly raved vitamin c serum. Personally, I didn’t see much of a difference, and I just didn’t like the fact I had to use this whole bottle up in less than a month, or else it will oxidize and lose some effectiveness. Not bad but also not great.
