Watching people’s favorites video on youtube is one of my guilty pleasures, but whenever someone mentions about their new favorite mascara or new favorite foundations, I rush out to buy it. That’s probably how I ended up with so many mascaras. I accumulated so many things because I always want to try the new “it” product.
To start a new year, I thought why not declutter? I Heard lots of good things about decluttering. Especially when I hear lots of people talking about the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I haven’t read the book yet, but since so many people are raving about the benefits of tidying up, why not start?
Covergirl Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara. One of my favorite mascaras, it is affordable, hold my curls and doesn’t clump up. If you have Asian lashes that don’t hold a curl, this is the mascara to try out. This is an old bottle so it is a little dry, so I would be tossing this one out. Don’t worry I already have a backup. KEEP.
Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express. This was an alright mascara, but it doesn’t hold much of a curl. However, it does gives your lashes a fluttery look. If you don’t like clumpy lashes this mascara might not be for you. I am probably going to keep using this, but won’t be repurchasing this again. KEEP.
L’oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. I originally did like this mascara. It helped hold my curls, give volume but I probably won’t be repurchasing this mascara again. It a great mascara but I won’t be repurchasing it again? Well, the reason why is because it dried out so fast. It does give great results but you will have to repurchase one every month. Not for me. TOSS.
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Long Long Long. When I was in Japan, I had to search up which mascara from Japan was the best. One of the mascara that kept on popping up was from the brand Majolica Majorca. I couldn’t find the one that was recommended, and it hard to find since they all look almost the same. So I just took a chance and grabbed one. Little did I know this mascara was a fiber mascara. I didn’t mind the mascara but I did not like the fibers at all. The fibers just poking my eyes. Not worth the pain. TOSS.
Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers. I remember liking the original more than the fiber one. The formula was more wet, making it hard to hold my curls. Also, the fibers just pokes my eyes, so it is a hard pass ( I have come to the realization that I do not like fiber mascaras). TOSS.
L’oreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Waterproof. Overal a good mascara. It held my curls but it doesn’t give much volume. This one was empty, so I will TOSS.
Mini Mascaras:
The mini versions might be different than the full sized ones.
Tarte Camera Light and Lashes. When I got this one, it was a little dry, and wouldn’t hold my lashes at all. TOSS.
Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant. The wand was a little big, but it didn’t bother me. It defines each giving your lashes a fluttery look, it holds a bit of a curl but it doesn’t give a lot of volume. Will KEEP.
Buxom Vanity Lash Mascara. The formula is a bit wet, so you can layer a lot. It makes my lashes looked very fanned out and long, but it doesn’t hold a curl at all and it also smudges. The second I put it on the lashes dropped. The lashes looked very long but I don’t know why but the overall look of the lashes just doesn’t look good. TOSS.
Benefit They’re Real. Lots of people rave about this mascara, I really just don’t understand it. Firstly the wand HURTS. Every time I apply it on my lashes, I feel the hard plastic, not a good feeling. Also, it doesn’t hold any curls at all, my lashes instantly dropped after applying it. TOSS.
YSL Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils. Not bad, but you need coats and coats of the mascara to just see my lashes.Nor does it give much volume either. However, it does hold my curls. It’s probably a good mascara if you are going for a natural look. Not bad, not good. UNDECIDED.
Conclusion
Keeping/Liked: Covergirl Super Sizer Waterproof, Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express,Make Up Forever Smoky Extravagant and maybe YSL Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils.
If I had to choose one I would probably pick the Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara as my number one. Although the Lash paradise does give great results, it just dries out too fast for my taste. However, if you are willing to repurchase a mascara every month definitely give the Lash Paradise a try.
