If you haven’t heard of the Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari exfoliator …where have you been?!?!? Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial is probably the most recommended exfoliator in the beauty world. It is known for their amazing results and also the PRICE.
It isn’t a cheap exfoliator by any means. For a 50ml bottle, it is $80 USD. Don’t get me wrong, I love this exfoliator, but every time I think about buying a new bottle, a little part of me dies. And worst of all, it is hard to get a hold of. I think it is available in the United States, and since it is a pretty popular product it could be sold out.
What is so special about Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari?
According to their site:
Babyfacial™ is a pro-quality AHA/BHA “facial” that resurfaces to reveal greater clarity, improved skin texture and tone and a more youthful radiance. Think of it as an extra nudge for stubborn, dull skin (in other words, it’ll knock your cells off).
What I thought about the Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari
I don’t think I have super sensitive skin, and I have used some intense exfoliator and masks from time to time. But this was a whole new level.
When I first used it my skin became irritated and super sensitive. For 3 days straight I had to avoid using any sort of acid and just focus on repairing my skin barrier. I used lots of hydrating toners, sheet masks, and aloe to heal and soothe my irritated skin.

Aloe
Any item containing aloe would definitely soothe your skin. The one that I am currently using is the Saem's Jeju Fresh Aloe Soothing Gel.
Hydrating Toner
Whamisa Organic FlowerToner {deep rich} is one of my favorite hydrating toners. It is very hydrating and absorbs fast.
Recovery Gel
La Roche Posay Cicaplast Gel B5, I personally haven't tried their product out yet, but I heard lots of goods things about it, especially for skin that has their skin barrier weakened.
Sheet Mask
Snail masks are great masks to help repair damaged skin or over exfoliated skin, one of my favorite snail mask is by Naruko.
After that happened, I was really scared that I would have to repeat on rebuilding my skin barrier again. From all the reviews that I saw, no one mentioned that their skin was irritated skin for 3 days straight. To my relief, the second time using the exfoliator my skin was not irritated. I woke up to super glowy skin and my skin almost transparent and clearer.
So be warned, even if you think you have semi-tough skin and have experience with intense exfoliator I would still be a little careful with this exfoliator.
When I put the exfoliator on my skin, I felt a some stinging that lasted for 2minutes after that my skin felt pretty normal. It wasn’t sharp stinging pain like knives but was still a sting. If you are sensitive I would probably work my way up towards 20 minutes, or even do a patch test just in case.
As a whole I would recommend this exfoliator, it is an intense exfoliator that makes your skin brighter and clearer. Just be careful. You might experience over exfoliated skin so just be careful and be prepared. Would I run out and buy it? A definite yes!
