Which is the Best Korean Toner – My HG Toners

There are many Korean toners on the market and you are probably wondering what is the best Korean toner. If you have never tried Korean skincare, you might even be wondering if Korean skincare worth it? Spoiler – Yes, it is. In this post,  I will answer what is the best Korean toner – well according to me.

What is a Toner?

If you are used to American toners, you might be wondering what do Korean toners even do? Is there even a difference between Korean toner vs American toner? Yes, there is. Korean toners are on a whole different level.

Since Koreans are super into skincare, they tend to be innovative. They like to try and test new ingredients for the new best skincare. Because of this, you will find toners for all skin types.   You can find a toner that is moisturizing, toners for acne-prone, toners for oily skin, etc.

American toners on the other hand are mainly known to strip your skin. The ones you find in drugstores are probably what you want to stay FAR FAR away from. They tend to be only alcohol and they strip your skin of everything. Some better toners like Naturium or Paula’s choice gently exfoliate your skin.

Generally: Korean toners are more innovative with many more options for different skin types

How to use Korean Toner

If you are used to only using American toners you are probably wondering how to apply Korean toner. There are generally two ways to use Korean toners.

Ways to use a Korean toner

    1. Use a cotton pad
    2. Pat into the face.

Generally, you can use a cotton pad and gently wipe it across your face. This method is typically used when you are using an exfoliant. If the toner you are using isn’t exfoliating you can put some toner into the palm of your hand and gently pat it into your skin. I tend to pat until it has mostly absorbed

What are the best Korean toner for your Skin type:

Since there are so many Korean toners here is a guide.

The Best Toner for Dry Skin

If you have dry skin, the best Korean toner for dry skin is the I’m from fig toner. The I’m from Fig toner is one of the most nourishing and hydrating toners I have ever used. I feel it would be the best option if you have dry skin. Another popular best Korean toner for dry skin is the Laneige cream skin. It is not my favorite though. I didn’t find it hydrating enough. If you are super dry skin you might need to layer several times.

Best Toner for Combination Skin

You might be wondering which Korean toner is best for combination, acne-prone skin, and sensitive skin? I can answer that with one single answer – Round Lab Dokdo 1025 Toner [Full Review]. The Round Lab Dokdo toner, although doesn’t seem like much, is the perfect toner when your skin needs to get back to normal. It contains minerals and is a gentle exfoliant. It slowly restores your skin with all the missing nutrition and brings it back to normal. Whenever my skin needs help, I know I can always rely on the Dokdo toner.

Best Toner for Oily Skin

If you have oily skin you might be wondering what is the best Korean toner to minimize pores or a Korean toner with niacinamide- and I have the perfect toner for you – Numbuzin no 3 Glowing Essence Toner. You can read my full review on the Numbuzin here. The numbuzin toner is a Korean toner that contains niacinamide and helps minimize pores. After using I noticed that it helped reduce the appearance of my pores. It also really helps with all the tiny little bumps I had on my forehead. If you have problems with bumpy forehead you might consider using this mask or check if it is fungal acne.

Best Korean Toner for Brightening

I think finding a toner for brightening might be the hardest.  Although most toners claim to brighter your skin many actually don’t. I think I have only found three toners that I liked for brightening. It was the I’m from Rice Toner [review here] and the Isntree onion toner. If you want a brightening look I recommend the I’m from Rice toner. However, if you want help with hyperpigmentation I suggest trying the Isntree onion toner [full review]. I find that when I use the Isntree toner, my acne scars are not as dark.

Conclusion: Is Korean Skincare Worth It

Yes – Korean skincare is very innovative. There are many types of Korean toners, for all types of skin types. It doesn’t matter if you have oily skin, sensitive skin, dry skin, or any type of skin you will find a toner that will work for you. If you could only try one toner, I would suggest the Numbuzin Toner. The Numbuzin toner helped with decreasing pore size and skin texture.
