This mask caught my eye when I was in Japan. Before I went to Japan I went I did some heavy duty research on what skincare product I should buy while I was there. I came across a site called @cosme, it reminded me of Allure best of beauty but for Japan. Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask was on the list for the best mask.

What so special about this mask

Besides being made in Japan, the serum in this mask is made from 100% organically grown Japanese rice. The serum has a slightly acid blend of sake, rice bran oil, ceramide, and rice bran extract. Supposedly it can hydrate, firm, condition, refine and diminish the look of pores.

Another thing you might notice is that you get more than one sheet in one package. Normally when you buy a sheet mask you get one sheet mask per packet but some Japanese sheet mask has multiple masks in one packet. I am not entirely sure of the reason, but I think it is more eco-friendly and cost friendly to the consumer.

What I thought about it

If you have tried Japanese sheet mask that has more than one sheet mask per packet, you probably notice that some masks have a very cheap quality. Some of the sheets have such low quality that there is basically no structure to the mask at all.  Sometimes the masks are dry because there are just too many masks but not enough serum. However, this face mask has a very nice quality to it. It felt quite silky and smooth.  The mask isn’t dry either, each mask is fully soaked with the rice serum.

Overall, I think it is an okay mask, nothing spectacular.  I didn’t notice any major difference in the size of my pores. Do you see any difference? You would think that the mask would make a huge difference with the appearance of pores since their logo has a picture of a girl with pore problems but it didn’t.

Conclusion

If your sole purpose is to obtain smaller looking pores, you might be a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike this mask. It is a decent mask, a great quality for the price (~700yen) but if you have to pay more then $10 dollars for this mask, I would probably skip this one. It does leave your skin feeling hydrated but just nothing spectacular.
