When I was visiting Korea I was about to stock up on my favorite Neogen Bio-peel gauze but I noticed that they came out with a new item. It is called the Real Cica Pads. I haven’t heard much about them, but since I love my Bio-peel gauze so much, I had to try it out. Will these new pads will be as good as my favorite Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling pad?
I couldn’t find much about the Real Cica pads but on the Neogen site, The Real Cica pads are described as “A skin-calming recovery cica pad that soothes the irritated and sensitized skin. While reinforcing the skin barrier. Cica repair essence & PHA moisture peeling ingredient supplies skin-calming hydration while removing dead skin cells and excess sebum”.
What is the difference between the Real Cica Pads and Bio-Peel Gauze
The Pads
The Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze pads are a bit different than the Real Cica Pads.
The Neogen bio-peel gauze has two different sides one that is embroidered one that looks smooth. The smooth looking side isn’t smooth looking at all, instead, it has this mesh under it to help with exfoliation. While the embroidered side is quite smooth, to help soothe the skin and pick up the remaining debris left behind.
The Real Cica Pads are also embroidered, but this time the embroidery helps with the exfoliation. The embroidery is more compact and has deeper grooves than the soothing side of the bio-peel gauze to help with exfoliation. The exfoliation isn’t as harsh as the exfoliating side of the Bio-Peel Gauze but it is harsher than the embroidered side of the Bio-Peel Gauze.
If I had to compare the two pads
The Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze
- More intense exfoliation – which means it will be better at removing impurities and dead skin cells to reveal healthier skin
- Has a soothing side – help calm your skin after exfoliating
- Good for when your skin a little more TLC/ or is feeling a bit congested
The Real Cica Pads
- Not as exfoliating as the Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze/more gentle
- Could be used every day to maintain the skin
- Might be better for sensitive skin
The solution
The Bio-Peeling Gauze contains:
Latic acid: Help exfoliate
Resveratrol: A natural AHA also is an antioxidant that fights free radicals to prevent hyperpigmentation and wrinkle formation
=more exfoliating and antiaging
The Real Cica Pads contain:
Centella asiatica: Skin-repairing ingredient
Neogen PHA: Gently exfoliates and soothes the skin to create a barrier to reinforce the skins natural barrier.
= more healing and repairing
Conclusion
The Real Cica Pads and Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling wine are great products but each serves different needs. The Real Cica Pads are when you want a gentle exfoliation to help maintain your skin while healing it to make it stronger. On the other hand, Bio-Peel Gauze Pads gives your skin extra exfoliation for when your skin is a little dull and need some TLC. They are both great products but if I had to choose only one, I would choose the Bio-Peeling Gauze.
