I am not gonna lie, I love Sephora and I shop there frequently. Recently, I felt like writing this because many Sephora recommendations for their Sephora sale has been popping up. Thousands and thousands of beauty junkies spend money to buy the best in beauty to just save some money. BUT! Just because it’s a sale it doesn’t always mean you are saving money. Here are my 3 reasons not to buy from the Sephora sale or…. at least be a conscious buyer before hitting the checkout button.
1. You have a large collection of makeup already.
It is very rare to use up a makeup item and that’s because they last a very long time. We are all probably guilty of collecting a certain item. I collect blushes. I probably have more than 10 blushes. If a 5g drugstore blush lasts for 6 months, that means I have 5+ years of blush use. If a drugstore lasts for 6 months can you imagine how much longer a high-end blush will last for? Although I am tempted to buy another blush do I want to add another 6+ months of use in my collection? Honestly, do I need that much makeup? Probably not. How many years worth of makeup do you have?
2. Buying to save
Some people buy back up and I don’t have anything to say to that but if you end up buying another product that you don’t need and only bought it because it was on sale, are you actually saving money? Or did you waste your money on a palette your probably never gonna use up? Maybe you are like me and you want another blush to your collection, while you still have 10 at home?
3. opt for skincare rather than makeup
In the end, makeup is just makeup and most of the time you are probably going to buy the same colors of products with different packaging. Ultimately, makeup doesn’t benefit your skin at all. Why not spend on skincare that is more effective for your skin. That way you can have skin so great that you can stop wearing makeup altogether.
