Do you have acne prone skin? Check out my review on the Medicube Centellaca

I have always heard good things about the brand Medicube, especially for acne-prone skin. The thing is. I never see it in stores. Even in Korea, I wasn’t able to find any Medicube products until I stumbled upon a random drugstore. There wasn’t a big selection of items there but there was one thing that caught my eye, the Medicbe Red Centellaca Sheet Mask.

The main reason why I wanted to try out the Medicube Centellaca mask is that it has Centella in it. I fell in love with Centella ever since trying out the Cosrx Centella Blemish Balm. The Centella Blemish Balm was amazing for my acne and acne scars and I thought this mask would do the same.

The mask is a three-step system

The First Step is the Medicube Red Foam Cleanser. The cleanser is white and thick and it contains salicylic acid that will help remove dead skin cells to reveal healthier looking skin. It is quite slippery, so make sure you rinse it properly off or it will leave a soapy residue.

The Second Step is called Medicube Red Toner. It is a clear gel-like toner that contains fermented cordycepts that helps control the oil production of the skin. The packet contains a generous amount of toner, enough to cover your face. You might be able to save some for next use if you wanted. The toner is has a watery texture but it takes a while for the product to fully absorb into the skin. It leaves your face slightly tacky.

The Third Step is the Medicube Red Centella Mask, it contains many beneficial ingredients to help acne prone skin

Centella Extract- Good for acne scars, Wound healing properties

Gold Extract- Anti-aging, Reduce inflammations, Help with acne and hyperpigmentations, Brighten skin

Licorice Extract- Brighten the skin

Green Tea Extract- Antioxidant, Reduce inflammation, Microcirculation

Korean Pasqe Flower Extract- Anti-aging peptide and Adenosine and Antioxidants

Rosemary Leaf Extract- Antioxidants, Reduce Inflammation, Antimicrobial Properties, Helps even the skin

Reynoutria Elliptica Extract- Anti-aging

Chopi Extract- Antioxidants and Anti-aging

Usnea Extract- Antibiotic and Antimicrobial properties

What I thought of Medicube Centellaca

Cleanser– I didn’t really like the cleanser. The cleanser had a classic soap smell but that’s not what bothered me. It was because the cleanser was really hard to rinse off. If you don’t rinse the cleanser off properly, you get this silky feeling but that’s not your skin. It is a residue.  Be careful not getting it in your mouth as well, it doesn’t taste good at all.

Toner– It was an alright toner, it was really light in texture. The texture was kind of misleading because you would think a light texture gel would absorb easily into the skin but it took about 2 minutes to fully absorb into the skin.

Mask– The mask is made out of good quality cotton. You can feel the quality of the cotton, it was thick and it doesn’t lose its shape even if you try to stretch it. At first, the mask leaves your face feeling a little tacky, but after letting it sit for a while your skin will feel soft afterward. I didn’t have any major redness or severe acne, but the mask calmed my acne down.

Conclusion

The Medicube Centellaca mask was okay. It contains many great ingredients for acne-prone skin. Don’t expect the mask to instantly make your acne disappear though. My acne didn’t disappear after using this mask, but the Medicube Centellaca mask did calm the redness. I liked the quality of the mask and all the beneficial ingredients. But since I only get a pimple once or twice a month it’s not something I need but if I had a more severe case of acne I would purchase the Medicube Centellaca again.
