By Wishtrend polyphenol in propolis review

There was one point in my life, where I have never heard of propolis before. I always knew it came from bees and that sometimes people would eat it but I never knew you could apply on your skin. It was not until I tried out the mask Twosowoong Propolis Mask [read my review here], that I found out it is an amazing ingredient. If you haven’t tried that mask yet, try it! It is one of my favorite masks. It truly makes your skin glow. Propolis is a great ingredient it is healing, nourishing, antibacterial, and soothing. That’s why I was happy when I was given the chance to review the Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis.

What is polyphenol?

Although I know what is propolis. What the heck is polyphenol? If we break down the chemistry name: poly means many, while phenol means a group with a hydroxy group connected to a benzene ring. But what does that all mean?  Nothing really. But polyphenol is usually known for its great antioxidant properties. It helps anti-aging by preventing free radicals from damaging to your skin.

What I thought about the Polyphenols in Propolis

I read some of the reviews and one mentioned that the scent was bad. Honestly, I don’t think it really smells. It does have a slight scent, but I didn’t really notice it. Unless I purposely smell it. If I had to describe the scent…it would be smokey. Even then, I can barely smell it. If you do smell it, the smell disappears after 5 seconds.

As for the texture, it is a little tacky at first, it reminds me of snail mucin with a bit of oil mixed in. A bit of tackiness with a bit of slip. But it does give your skin that healthy glowy skin, perfect for those no makeup days or you just want your skin to look glowy. If you rub the product into the skin, the oiliness disappears and leaves behind your skin feeling moisturized.

For the hydration, It is super hydrating. It made my skin plumper and felt more mochi-like. You can see in the picture that my hydration level increased. It is a great layering option could help people with dry skin. Although it is hydrating, I don’t know if I would use this product on its own, especially if you have dry skin. I would still recommend that you layer the ampoule with other skin care.

If you plan to rely solely on this product to help with your acne, I don’t think this is the product you are looking for. Honestly, I didn’t see a big difference in my acne but I don’t think an acne cure was the main purpose of this product. Instead, I like to think of this product mainly for hydration with some added bonus. Propolis is antibacterial and could help soothe your acne, but nothing could treat acne better than a BHA/salicylic acid treatment.

conclusion

Overall, the by Wishtrend Polyphenols in Propolis is a great hydrating ampoule that does lots of great things on the side. If you are feeling a  little dry and just want to add that little plumpness to your skin I think this product would be a great addition to your skincare.  Propolis does so many great things for the skin, including soothing, antibacterial, nourishing and healing. Although I wouldn’t rely on this product to cure your acne needs, I think it would be a great product to use along with your acne/salicylic acid products.
