P.calm Line Review:

P.CALM Barrier Cycle Toner

I really love the P.CALM toner. It is now one of my hg toners. I think it would be great for anyone with sensitized skin barriers, like acne-prone or sensitive skin. When my skin was going through a rough patch, the P.CALM toner was the only toner that was able to calm my skin right away. However, I did have to layer it a couple of times in order to see the redness go down.

There is one thing I notice with all P.CALM products
    • I’m not sure why, but all the product from this line makes my skin tingle. This is usually a bad thing, it might be because I just started retinol so my skin barrier is probably not at its best. Even though they made my skin tingle, I didn’t think they irritate my skin.

P.CALM Cato Cream Review and P.CALM Ampoule Review

I’m not sure if I like the Cato cream or the Ampoule. They both feel lightweight and absorb quickly. Almost like a no-frills version of Cerave. I believe it’s one of those products that help keep your skin balanced, and you can’t really tell the difference unless you stop using it. However, I think it might have helped with reducing my retinol purging stage.

Reduce Retinol Purging
    • As I mentioned earlier I am currently using retinol and I have been using the P.CALM line: P.CALM Cato cream, toner, and ampoule. I haven’t really purged when I was using the P.CALM line. the p.calm line might have helped with reducing the purging but it might also be because I have buffered the retinol. All I can say is that at most I had only 3 pimples on my forehead and that’s considered lucky for purging.

Overview:
  • Price: Toner ~ $15-20 | Ampoule ~$30 |  Cream ~ $30
  • Rating: 4.5
  • Repurchase? Yes. Great for reducing purge from retinol
  • Skin types: Great for problematic or sensitive skin
  • Made my fungal acne worst? Not that I noticed
  • Where to buy:

Conclusion: P.CALM Line Review

Would I buy it again? YES! I really like the P.CALM line, my favorite is the P.CALMcycle toner. If you can only choose only one product, I would recommend trying the P.CALM toner first. The P.CALM Cato Cream and ampoule might be worth the try only if you have super sensitive skin (ie broken barrier or acne-prone) or if you start to incorporate retinol into your skin routine. The only thing I might be wary of is that it might sting your face. However, I didn’t find it irritating but it is just something to take note of. In general, I think this line is great to reduce irritation and help maintain a  healthy skin barrier. Great for reducing the purging stage for starting retinol.
