My thoughts on the Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder
After my review and post about what to buy from The Ordinary, I think I have stumbled upon a New Favorite! The Ordinary recently come out with some new releases and I think I have fallen in love with one particular product, the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder.
Yes, yes. I know it isn’t super new but I finally have gotten my hands on it. The best part is, it only cost about $6!
I have tried many Vitamin Cs, from expensive to inexpensive products. From products like the Drunk Elephant Firma C Day Serum, Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum, OST C20 Orginal Pure Vitamin Serum and I even tried other Vitamin Cs from The Ordinary. However, this Vitamin C is by far the most effective Vitamin C I have ever used.
What is so great about it
From all the Vitamin C I have ever used, no Vitamin C has ever tingled my skin like the Ordinary’s 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder. I know that some L-Ascorbic Acid products are made so that it doesn’t tingle your skin but I like the tingly feeling so I feel it is working. Even after the first day of using it, I can see a major difference in the darkness of my acne scars. My skin was brighter and my scars were less noticeable. If you have sensitive skin I would be careful but for me, a MUST BUY!
What is great about this product is that this Vitamin C is in powder form, and powder form is very stable. Usually, when Vitamin C is dissolved in liquid or even in creams or serums, it will eventually degrade and rendering it ineffective. That is why this product is so amazing. Usually, when you buy a Vitamin C serum, you will notice that the serum eventually turns orange. The orange color is how you know that the Vitamin C has oxidize (the majority of the time), making it ineffective. By using a powder Vitamin C and immediately using it you will use Vitamin c when it is the most potent.
The product
The product itself is a white powder. The white powder isn’t uniform in size, some pieces are bigger and some are smaller. It also comes with a mini spoon which I found very helpful. It allows you to scoop the same amount of powder if you want. Although you won’t actually know how much percentage of L-Ascorbic Acid acid you applied to your face, I still think it is a great product.
Directions
You can mix it with a moisturizer of your choice. I don’t have a particular moisturizer I that I use with the L-Ascorbic Acid Powder. I tend to use whatever moisturizer I have on hand. Currently, I am using Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All In One Cream or the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream. Side Note: I did try it out with my Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream, but I wouldn’t mix it with the L-Ascorbic Acid Powder. I think when I used that combo I developed little bumps near my eyes.
Conclusion
I just love this product. It is super affordable and super effective. A must buy!
