Are they a Dupe? Ever wonder if there was dupe to Laura Mercier? Click to what I found out

If you like highlights like me you probably heard of the highlighter Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder 01. It is a natural highlight that gives you that glow but isn’t too in your face. I heard lots of people raving about this highlighter. I kind of wanted the Becca Champagne pop but I thought it might be too much for everyday wear. Little did I know that the Laura Mercier highlight was very similar to a highlight I already have.  The highlighter looks like similar to the Laura Mercier one but it is only 10 percent of the price.

The highlighter that I was mentioning about was the Essence Pure Nude Highlight in the shade Be my highlight.

When you compare it side by side in the pan it looks quite similar. In the picture above you can see that both have a slight sheen in the pan. However, the Essence one looks a tad darker while the Laura Mercier looks a little cooler.

1 and 2 are swatches of Laura Mercier highlight swatches while 3 and 4 are swatches of the Essence highlighter. 1 and 3 are layered swatches and 2 and 4 are blended out swatches.

When swatched you can tell they are not identical but they are quite similar. In the picture above you can that Laura Mercier (1) and Pure Nude (3) looks very different when you layer the highlight.  Although the essence one is a tad warmer than the Laura Mercier they look similar when you blend it out (2),(4).  Both highlighters are wonderful, no chunky glitters, both finely milled.

I would definitely repurchase both highlighters, both are very lovely highlighters. However, if you are on a tight budget I would buy the Essence PureNude highlight since they are very similar. If you are very fair, you might prefer the Laura Mercier one since it is on the cooler side.
