Sephora Airbrush Foundation

Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation Review

When I heard that Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation was quite similar to the Dior Airflash Foundation I just had to give it a try. I even heard someone claimed that it was wedding day worthy! I mean…Not many foundations get that title! The downside? It cost 68 dollars. So when I heard there was a dupe for the Dior Airflash Foundation for half the price, I had to try it out. Originally I thought one of the main reason why the prices were so different, was because the Dior Foundation had a larger range of shades than the Sephora one. Surprisingly both the Dior Airflash Foundation and the Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation both have 9 shades to choose from.

Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation Swatch

I picked up the Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation in the shade light, sadly it is slightly on the pink side. As you can see in the picture, it is slightly darker than my skin but you can barely see the foundation. swatch foundation It almost looks like it blends into my skin. In real life, the shade is much darker than my skin tone. If you have a similar skin tone to me, I would probably grab the foundation in the shade fair instead since it is more yellow toned. I wouldn’t try the medium shade as that is way too dark.  I did find that the foundation oxidizes a bit, making the pink tone, less obvious. Don’t expect it to match exactly after oxidizing though,  the oxidizing won’t be enough to completely cancel the pink tone in the foundation.

Coverage

The Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation did a nice job of evening the skin tone, with buildable coverage. I wouldn’t say this foundation is what you would grab if you wanted full coverage or use it to cover a huge blemish but it does build to a solid medium coverage. You can see in the picture some minor hyperpigmentation that the Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation didn’t quite cover up. What I like about this Sephora Collection Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation is that it is skin-like. It allows some of your skin to peek through, so your foundation isn’t masking your face. It’s perfect when you wear a radiant primer underneath, it peeks through the foundation, giving you a wonderful glow. Best of all it is lightweight, I almost can’t feel anything on my face.

As for the longevity of the foundation wasn’t the best.  It doesn’t have a long wear time, maybe 4-6 hours. The strange thing is that my blush would still be visible but it doesn’t look like I have much foundation left. That being said, after 4 hours the foundation doesn’t look as nice as when it was freshly applied.

Application

Honestly, spraying the foundation directly onto your face is a little messy and lots of the product is wasted. When directly sprayed on the face you get a thick layer of foundation that has an airbrushed finish. I prefer to spray it on a brush then buff it into my face. You get a lighter finish that still looks airbrushed. I found that it didn’t attach to my dry patch, which is perfect for a dry skin gal like me. Beware though, it may be streaky if you do not blend fast enough.

Would I recommend this foundation?

I do like the finish when I use a radiant primer underneath giving a radiant glow. However, the longevity of the foundation is rather disappointing. Hopefully, I will find a primer that helps the foundation last longer. As of now, I am undecided about this foundation.

Thanks,

Michelle
