Comparing Covergirl mascaras

I have been raving about the waterproof version of Covergirl  Super Sizer mascara for a while, but I noticed they started selling a fiber version. The thing that I like about the original Super Sizer Mascara is that it held my curls. For lashes that barely holds a mere 30 seconds for most mascara, it is a miracle when a mascara can hold my lashes even for half a day. In this post, I will be comparing Covergirl mascara (Covergirl Super Sizer Normal and Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers) and see which one is better.

The strange thing is that the Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers doesn’t have a waterproof version. I tend to like waterproof versions as they hold my lashes better. I thought just maybe, they didn’t make a waterproof version because they hold curls well.

What is the difference between Covergirl  Super Sizer and Covergirl  Super Sizer Fibers?

According to the CoverGirl site the fiber one:

The original Waterproof Covergirl Super Sizer mascara is described as this:

Our breakthrough Lash Styler transforms even small lashes — just twirl as you apply it to your lashes for an instantly Super Sized lash look. If you are comparing the two Covergirl mascaras packaging they both have the same claims:400% more volume and both supposedly give a false lash look but the Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers version have fibers in them.

When you compare the two mascara side by side they almost look identical. While the fiber version has a purple packaging everything else is pretty much the same,  even the wand is exactly the same.

Do they actually perform the same?

You can see there is an obvious difference. Although I curled my eyelashes on both eyes you can see that one held the curls while the other didn’t. On the left side, I used the Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers and on the right side, I used the Waterproof Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara. You can see that the left side the fiber mascara did not hold my curl at all.  In less than 10 seconds my lashes started dropping, in the end, my lashes became straight again.

Conclusion

If you have stick straight lashes like me, stick to the waterproof version. Even though they look similar, the fiber version will not hold your lashes.
